What is Hypno-Psychotherapy? Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation you want, expect, and allow yourself to enter. There is no loss of control, and you will not do or say anything you would not normally choose to do or say. Hypnotherapy can be used on its own, as a simple relaxation therapy, or it may be integrated into any of the schools of psychological thought.
Hypno-Psychotherapy is the term used to describe this integrative approach. It can also be used to help achieve personal growth through building self-esteem, enhancing career satisfaction, reducing relationship difficulties and improving sports performance.
The word "hypnosis" often conjures up visions of being under the "control" of another person. The truth is that you are very much in control and will not do or say anything at all against your own judgement.
Hypnosis can allow you to access a deeper part of your mind where old patterns of behaviour and thought are retained in order to make change happen more easily and more quickly. Contrary to popular opinion, you are likely to hear and remember everything afterwards, but will feel relaxed and refreshed as if you had a short nap. All work is done in partnership with the therapist.
